Happy colonoscopy! Laxative-free test may be as effective
Tue May 15, 2012
I am 55 and have had 4 of the normal types of colonoscopies starting at age 44. Every procedure found and removed polyps. I understand the desirability by some to have a CAT scan and skip the laxative preps needed for a regular colonoscopy--maybe more would actually have a screening done.
Student in DEA custody forgotten without food or water for days
Tue May 1, 2012
I swear, there could be an article contrasting vanilla vs. chocolate ice cream--and within a few comments would degenerate into political mudslinging and questioning one's heritage.
Guess who's coming to dinner? Navy family starts unique deployment ritual
Fri Apr 27, 2012
Former nuclear submarine officer here. I think this is a wonderful idea and unlike the couple of cynical comments in this thread, feel like Mrs. Smiley is doing all the right things.
Wal-Mart hushed up vast Mexico bribery case
Sat Apr 21, 2012
This should be an open and shut violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Many companies have been forced to pay huge fines as a result. In egregious enough cases, companies can even be banned from doing business.
Expelled teen charged in plot to bomb school
Wed Aug 17, 2011

"No Way Out"--one of the earlier Kevin Costner movies--when you find out the good naval officer was really a Russian spy all along. Stunning. And when I was a kid, "Rosemary's Baby"'s surprise ending made me sleep with the light on for about a week.
Ohio woman falls into recycling bin, dies inside
Tue Aug 9, 2011
A 64 gal. bin is the same size or smaller than most of the common trash bins we leave by the curb each week. Most curbside trash cans on wheels are even larger.
Punishing heat doesn't stop Texas high school football
Tue Aug 2, 2011
Unfortunately....counting down to the first (and second and third) heat related high school football death. Nothing will change.
I must break you: Mayor looks to crush city's parking woes with tank
Tue Aug 2, 2011
I am reminded of a movie years ago (can't recall the name) where firefighters fighting a blaze and faced with a car blocking a fire hydrant...smashed out both front windows of the car with an axe and ran the fire hose across the car's front seat.
Santorum kicks off 2012 bid: 'We're in it to win it'
Mon Jun 6, 2011
As a Pennsylvania resident, I voted against Mr. Santorum in every election in which he ran. Not a fast learner.
